{"id":3053,"date":"2026-06-26T10:50:37","date_gmt":"2026-06-26T09:50:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.hemblingtonchurch.org.uk\/?p=3053"},"modified":"2026-08-11T09:18:12","modified_gmt":"2026-08-11T08:18:12","slug":"bayeux-tapestry-talk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hemblingtonchurch.org.uk\/?p=3053","title":{"rendered":"Bayeux Tapestry Talk"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Saturday afternoon, 1<sup>st<\/sup> August, well-respected Medieval historian Imogen Corrigan enthralled the 70 strong audience in All Saints Church, Hemblington, with a master class detailing the history surrounding the Norman invasion of 1066.\u00a0 Her explanation of events expertly sewn into the embroidery by English women 900 years ago, delighted the audience and encouraged many questions afterwards.\u00a0 The tapestry is currently on loan to the British Museum.<\/p>\n<p>The event had been organised by The Friends of Hemblington church and supporters provided tea and much cake for the audience after the talk.\u00a0 One attendee emailed later to say \u201cIt was a delightful well-organized afternoon, with an expert speaker, wonderful hospitality, in a beautiful church.
