New Organ

On 9th September, we installed a new organ at Hemblington Church. Our previous “organ” was a very old digital piano, which was donated second-hand to the church many years ago. It has served us well but lately has been temperamental and spare parts are no longer available.

The new organ is a second-hand Allen’s Protégé L9 digital pipe organ with two keyboards and a 32-note pedalboard. The organ was originally installed in St Gerard’s Church in Bellshill, near Glasgow. St Gerard’s closed in November 2024 after amalgamating with Sacred Heart in the same area.

The organ is now ten years old but comes with a further ten years warranty. Our organist, Rory Marsden, believes that this new organ will significantly enhance the music at services and hopefully, encourage us to hold more musical performances in the church.
